High School Equivalency (HSE)
Adult Education - School 2 offers HSE classes in English and Spanish. Classes are designed to help students obtain their high school equivalency diploma. Instruction covers content in Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The goal is to maximize progress as students prepare for the GED exam and so the teachers provide lessons to meet the individual needs of each student. Students learn strategies for reading closely in order to identify and evaluate claims, provide supporting evidence, and develop writing skills to create organized text-based responses. Social studies and science content are integrated into the reading and writing activities. The math course covers a full spectrum of mathematics in every level including but not limited to number sense and relationships and two and three dimensional figures. As a HSE student, you will read and write across the varied content and be introduced to critical thinking and analysis of written text.
